Baby was detected inside the Bag in NAIA.


Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, A mother tried to export her child through immigration, she got caught when the backpack that containing the child was put through the airport scanner.

Airport personnel mentioned that the two-month-old baby was sleeping tight when detected at the NAIA-1.

Assistant general manager for security and emergency services Mr. Vicente L. Guerzon Jr of the Manila International Airport Authority, named the owner of the backpack as Jenifer Pavolaurea, a 25-year-old Papua New Guinean and also a nursing graduate.

The 25-year-old woman admitted that she attempted to export illegally her two-month-old son out of the country because she does not have the fundamental immigration clearance for his departure.
Pavolaurea was a departing passenger of Air Niugini, which was expected to exit for Port Moresby at 11 p.m.

Guerzon said Pavolaurea was questioned at the very beginning by an immigration officer for being an overstaying alien before the baby was identified inside the backpack.
